Let me start by explaining how the backwards hanger challenge works. You can complete the backwards hanger challenge by following the four simple steps below.
Step 1
Turn all of the hangers in your closet so that they are facing the opposite direction.
Step 2
When you wear an article of clothing, turn the hanger the right way when you put it back.
Step 3
Wait 6-8 weeks and see what articles of clothing are left facing the wrong direction.
So simple, right??
Step 4
This is the only hard part. This is the part where you go through the items that are still backwards and decide what to do with them.
I sorted all of my clothes into two piles – a keep and giveaway pile.
I tried to keep myself from putting to many things into the keep pile. The goal was to get rid of things that I don’t wear, so the keep pile was mostly things that I didn’t wear because they are out of season. I also kept a few things that are dressier than I wear on a daily basis.
The giveaway pile is being sent to Swap.com. Swap.com is an online consignment store that where you can easily buy and sell used clothes, books, toys, and other items. You just pack your things into an approved box, send it with one of their labels, and then they take pictures and create all of the listings for you. All you have to do is set a price. It’s really simple!
