Please tell me that I am not the only one with a love/hate relationship with dressing up for special occasions! I love getting the family looking nice and out of the house. I hate the time and money wasted looking for outfits that I don’t want to wear more than a couple of times. Dress clothes can be so expensive, but at the same time, I don’t want to just wear the same thing when we are going to be taking pictures and making memories. A great alternative that helps save money (and the environment) is shopping second hand. thredUP is an awesome online consignment store that allows you to browse deals from the comfort of your couch. Back to Basics Cooking with Malaysian Palm Oil

The idea that all fat is unhealthy is both antiquated and new at the same time. Let's get back to basics.

When I was a kid, diet foods and lower-calorie butter substitutes were  all the rage. Everything was low-fat, processed, and supposedly better for you. Think back to the dreamy-man-filled “I can’t believe it’s not butter” commercials! Well, research has recently put those ideas all to bed. It turns out that eating foods in their natural state is the way to go. We are going back in time to nutrition as it was before processed food became the norm. Fat is not the enemy. When it comes to fat, there are healthy and unhealthy fats. The best kinds of fat are the fats found in plants – avocados, nuts, and natural plant oils. Malaysian palm oil is a great source of natural, healthy fats. Check out this post to see how Malaysian palm oils fits into a back to basics style of cooking. read more

Recently, I had the chance to try out a new (new to me anyway) hazelnut spread from Once Again Nut Butter. Keep reading to hear my thoughts and where to find some yummy recipes. read more
