Have you jumped on the big nut butter bandwagon yet? As many people seem to be stumbling across the benefits of a plant-based diet, it seems like nut butters are becoming more and more popular. I know that I am definitely a fan of pretty much any variety – peanut butter, hazelnut spread, and definitely almond butter. Not All Olive Oils Are Created Equal (Flavor Your Life!)
Olive oil has been my go-to cooking oil since I started cooking. I think that’s because it’s what my mom always cooked with. For the most part, I just buy whatever olive oil is cheapest and available at the local grocery store. At times, I have bought or been gifted craft oils, which bring a specific flavor to the dishes that I cook. It really does make a big difference in the taste and quality of my cooking. Recently, I was introduced to the Flavor Your Life campaign, which teaches home chefs about how (and why!) to choose olive oils that will compliment your food flavors. It is a great educational tool if you cook with olive oil frequently!
Fall Apple Recipes
Fall is a very special, very fun time for our family! It is most definitely my husband’s favorite season, and I have come to love it as well. We get outside as much as we can before winter comes, and we always make it out to pick pumpkins and apples. Even last year, when we had a three week old baby, my husband and I broke out the stroller and make the trek through the orchard to bring home a whole box full of apples. We were definitely on the hunt for apple recipes to use them all up!
