One of the easiest ways that I have found to increase traffic and make new blogger connections is with link parties and blog hops. They are fun, easy to use, and you can spend as much or as little time with them as you want. In addition to increasing your traffic, you will discover some great posts that you would have otherwise missed.
What is a linky party or blog hop?
Just like real life parties, every link up party is different. The basic concept is that you share a post of yours by “linking up” in a party. Then bloggers will browse through the other linked posts and support each other. You read and comment on posts in exchange for people to read and comment back.
Most link parties have rules, so make sure that you read them before joining!
The more active you are with the other bloggers, the more chance that you have of getting traffic. Engaging with other bloggers is a great way to start a mutually beneficial relationship.
Side note – Another great way to boost your blog traffic is with
Tailwind, an app that allows you to schedule pins on Pinterest and posts on Instagram. You can also join tribes where you share pins with other bloggers to help promote each other. These tribes work a little like link parties. If you sign up using my link, you get a free month and a $15 credit if you decide to join.

This is a great list! I’ve wanted to try link parties before; I’ll start here when I’m finally ready!
They really are a great way to boost your traffic and get comments from other bloggers! Plus discovering other bloggers is fun too. 🙂 Good luck!
Great list Lexie! I’m a fan of the #Allformamas link party. The link parties are a great way to get genuine comments, meet new bloggers and find little circles of support. I have met some amazing ladies through the link parties, I am going to check some others on your extensive list. Cheers!!
You are so right! I love the connection that you can find. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by.
Wowza – I clearly have a lot of link-partying to do! Thanks for the list, Noe I have an idea of where to start. Question – how much time do I need to plan for each? Appreciate your help!
Don’t be overwhelmed! You can always just start with a couple. 🙂
How much time you need will depend on the rules and how much interaction you want to do.
Most parties will ask you to comment on 2-4 posts. I’d plan to spend at least a minute or two on each post so that you can actually read them and leave a quality comment.
Remember that you will get out what you put in.
bookmarking! I needed this! thank you for sharing
So glad that I could help! If you come across any more great ones, please let me know. 🙂
I don’t know why I’ve been so confused by the idea of link parties. There are a couple on here that I’ve heard of – I probably need to make the dive. Thanks for the list!
Hi Tina. The basic concept is that you share one of your posts and then other bloggers share theirs and you read and comment on the other posts to increase traffic and network with other bloggers. My suggestion is to just go to one of them and read through the rules to clear things up.
Let me know if you have specific questions.
Otherwise, I say go for it!! Good luck. 🙂
I’m not great at joining linkys but I am trying! I’m also going to try a blog hop this month. I find all the different rules a bit complicated sometimes and am always worried about going wrong and offending someone! Ironically joining you from a linky #HumpDayLinky
Haha! Well, I guess at least you are trying. My only advice is to maybe start by going for quality and not quantity. Take the time to read the rules before you join.
Happy linking!
